Fire alarm system designed for early detection as possible of an outbreak of fire. The fire alarm system has to do its work earlier as possible, to enable quick and safe escape of the population from the fire and allow the local fire services to do its job. This article summarize the Israeli standard 1220 Part 3 which relates to installation of fire alarm systems. 

    

Infrastructure:
• According to the Standard, the plumbing will be installed according to the laws of electricity when each element in the pipeline must be approved by the standard.
• Infrastructure of fire alarm systems will be separate and will only used in fire alarm.
• A revealed Infrastructure installation of fire alarm system would be with a "Mriron" Infrastructure which carries the standard approval.
• Infrastructures for Fire alarm systems that are placed under an acoustic ceiling will be in red color.
• All fire alarm systems infrastructure will be fortified to the  wall at intervals of 60 cm between each other.
• every meeting of two leaders, must have a connections box.
• In infrastructure of Fire alarm systems, all tubes must enter into the boxes. Leave no wiring is visible in any way.
•  At a closed gypsum ceilings, the standard demand an open service exit. Each box which is not closed with screws has to be added with harms between the lid and the box body.
• In places where infrastructure is installed for fire alarm systems and has an iron networks, the wiring must be a NYY type and must be separated from any voltage source. 

 

Wiring:
• All types of wiring that are used to install fire alarm systems must be approved by the Israel Standards Institute.
• Connection of wires to install fire alarm systems will be made by soldering or insulation shrinks tight with tin.
• Connection of wires to install fire alarm systems will be signage by fags to symbolize the direction of the various types of the voltage.

Smoke detectors:
• Smoke detectors will be installed according to the fire protection services demands, according to the safety adviser of the place and according to Israeli standard.
• Installation of smoke detectors must be away as possible from air conditioning.
• Detectors will be installed in a way in which the detector's led  will be directed toward the exit of the same compound.
• When installing analog fire alarm systems, in places where there is no signage in the rooms, install a signaling indicators which designed for fire alarm systems in every room.
• When installing conventional fire alarm systems, signaling indicators must be installed.
•When installing all types of fire alarm systems, there must be a signaling indicators in every electricity board.

Automatic Dialer:
Fire alarm systems must be installed with an automatic dialer which has a supervised line for disconnection of the phone line. Automatic dialer must be installed  near as possible to the fire alarm control panel and will be equipped with with a private phone line.

Push Buttons:
• When installing fire alarm system, push-buttons must be installed suitability of the genre system (analog / conventional).
push-buttons are to be installed at the entrance to the area and must be at a height that will not exceed 1.8 meters.
• installation of fire alarm systems push-button will calculate for voltage the same as the smoke detectors.

Horns:
• all fire alarm system must be installed with horns.
• The fire alarm system horn is the best way used to alert on a upcoming fire.
• In busy places, a strobe horn will be installed.
• be sure to check the volume sound of the horns, which should be according to the Israel Standards Institute requirements for certain decibels.

Control panels:
• installation of fire alarm control panel will be as close as possible to the entrance of the site.
• Alternatively, instead of installing fire alarm control panel at the entrance to the site, remote-panel can be installed at the entrance.
• fire alarm control panel will be wired to voltage through a separate validator with bipolar switch (this is a new standard requirement).
• entry of the hub power cables to the fire alarm control panel will be only in the solely designated openings.

Programs, signage and delivery of fire alarm system:

• All connection boxes and crossing boxes when installing fire alarm systems will be signage with fire alarm stickers.
•  On all fire alarm control panel will be paste a sticker which will indicate the manufacturer name and his telephone number.
•  On all fire alarm control panel (analog or conventional) will be pasted an instructions to immediate execution.
• When handing the fire alarm system after installing to the client, the installer will also provide an AS-MODE program.
• When the installer finishes the installation of the fire alarm system, he must order a validation and approval test from the Israeli Standards Institute
